Lola Coquette

A native of Nogales, Arizona, Lola Coquette attended the University of Arizona, earning her Bachelor of Science in political science, creative writing, and Spanish. Her Master of Fine Arts degree is in creative writing. 

Coquette is from a multi-cultural musical family, and she plays several instruments, having gotten her start with her grandmother playing the church organ. She studied ballet, salsa, and other Latin dances, and took her first Burlesque dance class in 2011 in Phoenix, studying with a troupe called Va Va Voom. A regular attendee of the Burlesque educational conference, BurlyCon, she has also frequented workshops covering dance, costumes, production, and the business of Burlesque. She moved to Portland in 2014 and has since worked as the producer of the Oregon Burlesque Festival.
