• Letter from Hugh W. Handsfield, Editor, College Dept., McGraw-Hill Book Company, Inc., to LP and Martin Karplus RE: Professor E. Bright Wilson wrote to Handsfield concerning the size of the new edition of Introduction to Quantum Mechanics. Handsfield suggests limiting the book to 500 pages, as anything longer will make the book too expensive for students. Also suggests enlarging the type page measure to fit more text on each page. Wonders if he can expect to see some sample material from the revised manuscript before LP and Karplus undertake the final typing job. Will send additional sets of cut pages if needed. Encloses copies of a leaflet on the preparation of revised editions.
