  • Letter from Dr. Thomas F. Anderson, Johnson Foundation, University of Pennsylvania, to LP RE: Unable to speak at the symposium on Molecular Structure and Biological Specificity because the Electron Microscope Society of America is meeting at State College, Pennsylvania on October 27-29. As this year's president, Anderson feels that he must attend. After the meeting, Anderson and his family will leave for nine months in France. Grateful to LP and the others who wrote the Guggenheim people regarding Anderson's application for a Fellowship. The September issue of Cancer Research should contain a paper by Anderson and Coman. Brit Chance has agreed that they should apply for a new high resolution electron microscope for the Johnson Foundation. [Letter from LP to Anderson July 22, 1955] [Filed under LP Speeches: 1955s.24]
  • Letter from Professor C.W. Keenan, Associate Professor of Chemistry, University of Tennessee, to LP RE: Keenan and a colleague are interested in writing a general chemistry textbook. Would like to include a picture of LP in their planned textbook in the section on structural chemistry. Requests the picture that was recently published in Time, or another one which shows LP surrounded by his models. [Letter from LP to Keenan September 1, 1955] [Filed under LP Correspondence: (K: Correspondence, 1936-1956), #200.20]
  • Letter from Professor S. Mizoshima, Chemistry Dept., University of Tokyo, RE: On his way back to Europe, Mizoshima has stopped to visit the University of Notre Dame again. Plans to fly back to Japan via Los Angeles on Sept. 26. Would like to visit LP on Sept. 27. The money LP left in Japan is being kept in a bank in Tokyo. Hopes that all the baggage LP sent by boat has arrived safely. [Letter from LP to Mizoshima August 16, 1955] [Filed under LP Correspondence: (M: Individual Correspondence. (Mills - Morgan)), #248.6]
