  • Letter from Dr. T. H. Benzinger, Naval Medical Research Institute, National Naval Medical Center, to LP RE: Sends LP data on microcalorimetric work. In October, Dr. Charlotte Kitzinger will work with Professor H. A. Krebs in Oxford on the energetics of ion transfer or some other objective of cell metabolism. No plans yet for chemical physics research, yet there has been one physicochemical phenomenon in their experiments. Wonders if they are justified in hoping that microcalorimetry may contribute to the study of the structure and the interactions of molecules from the standpoint of chemistry as well as biochemistry. Would appreciate advice on this matter, either by mail or in person by a visit to CIT. [Filed under LP Correspondence: (B: Correspondence, 1955-1957), #38.1]
