  • Letter from Dr. E. W. Fajans, Pacific Coast Borax Co., to LP RE: Appreciates LP informing them that Caltech regulations make it impossible for Dr. Waugh to use the Laue Camera and Optical Goniometer by himself. However, the Company cannot accept the offer to collaborate with Caltech and publish the results jointly, as the Company is already planning to publish the complete investigation jointly with the Geological Museum of Harvard University. [Letter from LP to Fajans May 26, 1955] [Filed under LP Correspondence: (F: Correspondence, 1935-1956), #128.20]

  • Letter from H.S. Ingham to LP RE: Encloses a copy of his book, The Theory of Space. The theory primarily relates to theoretical physics, but Ingham felt that LP might be interested since his own work bridges the gap between chemistry and physics. As an alumnus of Caltech, Ingham will be particularly interested in LP's comments, as well as comments of others at Caltech. [Letter from LP to Ingham May 26, 1955] [Filed under LP Correspondence: (I: Correspondence, 1936-1973), #185.16]
  • Letter from Juan Carlos Beron, Editor, Chemia, to LP RE: Gives historical background of the publication Chemia. Proposes an exhange between Chemia and a similar publication from Caltech. • Letter from LP to Henry Dreyfuss, RE: Thanks Dreyfuss for finding the asymmetric toy fish. Created a helix out of the fish by fastening the head of each one to the tail of the next. Has also used snack-coasters, which fit into one another automatically. LP paid for the toy fish, so the store will not be sending Dreyfuss a bill. [Letter from Dreyfuss to LP May 16, 1955] [Filed under LP Correspondence: (D: Correspondence, 1936-1959)), #98.20]
