You are a sweet girl to have sent me a special delivery letter yesterday, and such an interesting one, too. Yesterday at 6 PM on returning from Aunt Beth's I met Mrs + Mr Bacher + Mr + Mrs Wolfe and walked around with them for a while and told them that I got up late because I hated to go to bed alone. The Wolfe's asked me to come to a party tomorrow night, to play Murder. I'm afraid you won't get a letter today, because the one I wrote yesterday morning stayed in my pocket till evening. Rich and I went to see Aunt Beth. She had a nice dinner for us, and said she

told anyone who got snooty with her that her nephew + niece lived in a room with four bathrooms. Their house is fixed up a little now, but not much, and they don't seem to be thinking of getting a better one. She took me and the boys for a ride to the swimming pool and the Ford plant, and while the boys were playing she talked about Rich. She said not to lend him any money — that Aunt Lucile should take care of him. Aunt Lucile hadn't said I was going to lend him money or anything — she seems to be afraid of Aunt Beth. She said Rich needed careful watching, what with his paternity and his poor upbringing by his mother. She said he likes

wine too well already — poor Rich. He seems happy, though.

Last night I got a book on Spiritualism from the library + read it. It was quite amusing, but obviously fraudulent. Then this morning I prepared and gave my lecture. Everyone was interested, although the most interesting things are still to come. Tonight I'm going to talk at the Physics research conference. White and Newmann [?] dropped in today from Pasadena.

Now I have a man in Physics to see and some letters
