Dearest girl:
I was glad to hear from you — I look for mail every hour or so, and none came yesterday because you think its not good for one to have too much. I've just come in from going to a movie with Lawrence, called "It pays to advertise." It was pretty good. Last night too I went to a movie, in Oakland, and alone. It was called "They're hardly gentlemen" or something like that. I came home at about 10

, and worked on my lecture until 12, and slept till 9:45, and then bathed + shaved + worked on my lecture till 11, and then gave it. Everyone seems very much interested in my work. After lunch I talked with Tolman a while and then he and I inspected Lawrence's new apparatus for getting high speed positive ions and then I went to Birge's

. You see I keep pretty busy, even though I'm not working very hard. It has been raining a little here.
I'm sorry Jeff's tummy is upset. The Brode baby was born this morning at 9 AM. He weighs 8# 3 oz. I'm sorry Badger's mother died.
I've seen everyone here now — Rollefson + Professor Hall + Stewart + Porter, etc.
I'm glad to hear that you like little Jeff. I like him too, and Linus too, and you too. I'll come and see you next week, starting tonight (in a week). How will that be? I love you, darling. I'll go out now to mail this, so you'll get it tomorrow.
Your own
