- Handwritten letter from Marie Lous Mohr to AHP, RE: Thanks AHP for the 150 copies of "Let There Be a World." The women in Oslo have been working hard to get a delegation of Norwegian women to the Hague in May for the peace demonstration. - Handwritten note from Helaine D. Blum to AHP RE: Tells AHP that she was happy to receive her letter and explains the significance that meeting with AHP and LP meant to her. Discusses a car that AHP is selling, and notes that she wishes AHP could find a higher bidder in the east. Discusses the trip to Copenhagen and says that she is sure many people will look forward to AHP’s participation. Notes that she had dinner with Otto the other evening. - Handwritten note from Helaine D. Blum to LP RE: Expresses her appreciation for LP’s kindness in posing for a portrait and explains how the experience opened up a new dimension in her work. Tells LP that she has assembled a collection of letters from all the people who have posed for her and asks LP to send such a letter for her to add to the collection. Notes that she noticed in the Times that the State Department has not given LP permission to go to Cuba. - Letter from Benella Caminiti to LP RE: Explains to LP X-rays were taken of her 5 year-old son’s mouth by his dentists without her consent and that she wishes to bring suit for damages against the dentist and present a case for a parental consent requirement. Encloses the abstract of a paper by 3 members of the University of Washington College of Dentistry concerning the topic and a summary paper on the legal situation applicable to anesthesia. Asks LP if he knows of any other people or organizations that would be interested the engage in such a suit. - Letter from Janet Neuman to AHP and others, RE: Helen Gahagan Douglas might show up at the Hague. Bernice Steele received a statement from Quincey Wright on the illegality of MLF operations, and she will be sending out copies. Neuman requests a copy of the form letter for registrants from the other NATO countries and a copy of the tentative agenda for the Hague. Suggests bringing pictures of children and grandchildren to be incorporated into the publicity of the demonstration. Hickey, Acting Director of the Passport Office of the Department of State, cc: Senator Hubert Humphrey, RE: Notes that he received Hickey’s letter which states that Mr. and Mrs. Morris Block are not able to return to the U.S. because the Soviet authorities refuse to issue them exit visas. Asks if it is true that American citizens, having American passports in their possession, can be prevented from leaving a foreign country. - Letter from LP to Mr. George Knox Roth, Research Director of General Research Consultants, RE: Explains that it is not possible for anesthetic agents to decrease the oxygen carrying power of hemoglobin, thus depriving the brain of oxygen, because the effect of the anesthetic agents is not large enough. Notes that the did not understand the arguments in the 7th and 8th paragraphs of his letter. Says that he will be pleases to talk with Roth’s son Dana.
