  • Letter from Gerda Otteun to AHP, RE: AHP did forget her orchid, but Otteun thinks of her when she looks at it. Otteun was very happy to have AHP as her guest and to become her friend. After AHP left, Otteun got in touch with Kähler and he agreed to make another bowl like Otteun's for AHP. Kähler says that it will take about a month to make the bowl. Otteun describes the four gifts that she, Ester Brinck, the Danish Peace Conference, and the Biochemists sent to AHP. They were not allowed to put letters in the packages, so this is why she describes the gifts in a separate letter. Otteun discusses some "gossip" that she has heard about the women in the Ligaen for Tolerance and their decision not to sponsor the Pauling Meeting. Otteun discusses some items in the Danish press regarding the Paulings, and she encloses a cartoon that she likes. P.S. Martin and Ole send their greetings, too. As AHP will probably find in the future, Martin is the "thinker" and she is the "writer" in their family. [Filed under AHP Correspondence: (General Correspondence, Personal, N-Z), #2.3]
