Dearest love:
I received two fine letters from you. Too bad the English boys were so dull - perhaps overawed, but perhaps just dull. Dove is a nice fellow.
The Conference is over. Disappointing. I may give Pugwash up. I talked with Bentley Glass yesterday. He has really no statements of mine to support his accusations; but he quibbles. I told him my opinion of him.
I think I'll visit Peter today. Tonight I go to dinner & theatre [sic] with Ralph Schoenman. I think I told ^ you that tomorrow's Com. Of 100 demonstration was canceled.
Tomorrow I'll spend the day with Peter & Julia - then Laiden - then home.
Last night at 6 PM I came to my room & just stayed there, although many interesting people were around. When you aren't along I seem to prefer just to be alone.
Buchbinder*, Canon Collins*, the Piries, Joubin, Bob Brode, Topchiev and Mrs., the Dubimin's [?], the Eatons, Khvoetov [?], Blackett, Bernal, the Russells, Svhohnström*, Dorothy, ^Infelds & others send you their regards.
Love
Paddy

- Letter from LP to Director Gunnar Jahn, Norges Bank, Norway, RE: LP says he has been attending the 10th Pugwash conference in London, and that Jahn's letter has just reached him. He says that he agreed essentially with the London Statement, and that he voted to approve it; it was approved unanimously. He feels that the German people themselves should decide about reunification. The postscript informs Jahn that LP will be back in Pasadena on NaN, 13 S [Filed under LP Safe Contents, Drawer 2, Folder 2.024]
