LP then goes on to describe a scene he saw: "Officer 1593 / 17 PCT / S.E. 48th and Park Avenue / 7:35 P.M. / Deaf and dumb negro. Cop took his purse and other contents of pockets. Negro grabbed on card and tore it. Officer punched him in jaw and held him. Then, two minutes later, punched him in stomach while he was quiet. Other officer came and took him and young white boy off in taxi."
