Dear Petie,

We've all been happy to hear from you and we are disappointed that you are not going to spend the coming year in the United States. I can well understand your reasons but am disappointed anyway. I’d even thought we might have another family Christmas if you were all here. In the new house which would serve as a house warming. Well, perhaps another time.

Crellie and family are well in spite of this severe flu epidemic which was hard on the Daddy and me, too. He, C, is going to Riverside U.C. this fall as assistant Professor. He seems happy to be going.

Did the Daddy give you names? Prof. Heyrofsky is in Prague. He was in Pasadena long ago when Linda was a baby. Seven years in Moscow. His wife is lovely. Also the wido of Topchiev Alexander Topchieva – get address at Suurviver Academy. Perhaps I should send some notes to you.

Niva Popova Sec. of Foreign Cultural Relations – Tmaara Marvedivva. It’s spelled Mamyedova but has a y inserted in the pronunciation. Send you on too.

Linda and Barclay are having a GoGo party tonight. They sent out fetching invitations.

I wish you might see the ranch now with the poppies, lupine and monkey flowers among many others. We are still having our difficulties with help, etc.

I’m glad you brought things the children wanted. It will be fine to see them again. We are coming to France this fall so we shall probably see you there if you are back from your travels.
