    Dear Sir:

I am sorry about the delay in sending you the revised text of my Lindau Lecture.

There is the possibility that the Lecture did not reach me. I was in Australia in October and November, and my mail accumulated during this period. I have, however, examined it again, without finding the manuscript containing the text of my Lindau Lecture. It seems likely that it was lost, either before arriving in Santa Barbara, or afterward.

Could you send me another copy of the manuscript?

    Sincerely yours,

    mjh Linus Pauling
