    September 7, 1965

    Mr. Ernest Chock

    6509 Seville Road - Apt. 9

    Goleta, California

    Dear Mr. Chock:

You remember that I lent either you or David a couple of books on polyhedra. yesterday I wanted to look something up in them, and could not find them. I do not remember whether or not they were returned -- they might well have been returned and have been put away by me in some place that has escaped by attention.

Are you free to do any more work, during the next few months? I have written several papers about nuclear structure now, but have not yet got to the papers on which the calculations that you made have some bearing.

    Sincerely yours,

    mjh Linus Pauling

    Professor Ralph Spitzer

    1911 Knox Road

    Vancouver 11, B.C.

    Dear Ralph:

Ava Helen and I are looking forward very much to seeing you and Terry when we come to Vancouver. I don't know what the schedule will be — no doubt a very crowded one.

It is fine that you are now a full time Associate Professor of Pathology, and I hope that you continue to enjoy your new work.

I am working hard on the new ideas about the structure of atomic nuclei that I have developed during the last couple of years. It will be interesting to see whether the nuclear physicists accept these ideas.

    With best regards, I am,

    Sincerely yours,
    Linus Pauling
