  • Letter from Beatrice Wulf, Secretary to LP, to Dr. William F. Neuman, School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Rochester, RE: Has received Neuman's special delivery letter addressed to her at LP's home address. Says she will forward Neuman's letter to LP in Calcutta today, and request that he cable his answer. Is aware that LP has already declined invitations for summer conferences. • Letter from Dr. William R. Bergen, Head, Orthopedic Research Laboratory, to Dr. W. Harold Civin, Director of Laboratories, The Queen's Hospital, Hawaii, RE: The blood samples that Civin sent to LP for hemoglobin study were sent along to Bergen, as LP is currently abroad. The delay time resulted in unsatisfactory samples for testing, as they had clotted and partially hemolysed. Tests were run anyway and both samples showed the hemoglobin-C component though it was impossible to determine the other component. Recommends shipping another sample directly to Bergen in Alsever's solution. Dr. Sturgeon will send sample bottles containing necessary solution.
