  Dear Petie:

  Two or three people have come to see the car and I have a written offer from one, of $3750.00. I think that I shan't accept this offer now, because one or two people who examined the car very carefully were so excited about it and showed such real appreciation of it that I believe I can get a better offer.

  The Daddy and I have about decided to have a copper roof on our house at the ranch, which we think would be lovely after it had weathered a bit and so I have about decided now to sell the car for a price which will include the cost of a copper roof. I am not sure I will be able to accomplish this, however.

  How is your house coming? We think we have a good, solid architect and one with a good feeling for materials but I think he is not too exciting. We shall have a good comfortable, convenient house - something like the one we have here, I think.

  I took the Daddy to the airport this morning through all of the traffic and am somewhat frazzled, on his way to St. Louis. I shall go to St. Louis on Sunday and next week we have to undergo this trial. If it is successful perhaps we can have the copper roof and a marble bath-tub!!! I'm not sure a marble bath-tub is any longer a status symbol!!!

  We are all well and only need to have some time and, I think, what we really need is a period without pressure on us to get something done or go somewhere or make some speech, or something.
