- Letter from LP to the Editor of the American Legion Magazine, RE: Says that it has been pointed out to him that he was unfavorably mentioned in the November issue of the American Legion Magazine in an article by Louis Budenz called “Do Colleges Have to Hire Red Professors?” States that he is not a Communist and asks that this letter be published in full in the magazine. Clarifies many of the statements that Budenz made in the article and corrects some of the information that Budenz presented that was not true about his visit to Honolulu and the withdrawal of his invitation to speak at the University of Hawaii.
