Akau to the Board of Governors of the University of Hawaii Alumni Assn., RE: Discusses the situation regarding the withdrawal of LP’s invitation to speak at the dedication of the new chemistry building at the University of Hawaii. Recommends that the Board of Governors appoint a committee to meet with LP on this matter before he returns to the mainland the next day, that the same committee obtain all the facts in this case from the president of the university, that they carefully consider all aspects of this matter, and that they use their offices to convince the Board of Regents to re-invite LP to dedicate the new chemistry building, or at least apologize to LP for the harm done to him.
