LP accepted the invitation and wrote to the State Department and Miss Benner to cancel his midwest tour; he has not heard back from the State Department yet but he has heard from Professor E. S. Guzman Barron, representative for the Southern American Congress, saying they have withdrawn support for a delegate to the Chemical Congress because the American Chemical Society is already sending a delegate. Writes that because he has not yet heard back from the State Department, he will wait and keep those dates in May open.
