Guzman Barron, Lasker Foundation for Medical Research, University of Chicago, RE: Says that he is sorry LP will be unable to go to Lima because everyone was greatly looking forward to his visit. States that he hopes LP will be able to visit their colleagues in South America at another data. Tells LP that he read his note on the structure of proteins with great interest and was glad to hear of their quick progress. Experiments now completed indicate the observed oxaluria appears to have no deleterious effect on renal function or morphology. Would like to know if there is any fractionated oxypolygelatin on hand. However, also writes that many people have difficulty working with the State Department, and perhaps both agencies are involved in complicating the situation. Also writes that the American Chemical Society was invited to participate in the Fifth Congress and appointed Dr. A. W. Gauger of Pennsylvania State College who is going at his own expense.
