Dear Eddie:
I am very glad that you shall be in Pasadena for eight or nine days, and I am pleased to give you permission to use the facilities of the Gates and Crellin Laboratories. Could you come to Christmas dinner at our house, in the early afternoon of Christmas day? Dr. Sturdivant will be there—I don't know who the other guests may be.
I am very sorry to learn that Calvin and Mrs. Calvin
have had such bad luck with the Rh factor. We should, of course,
be very glad to help him in any way that we can. Would you tell
him that Levine will be here on January 16. I think that it would
be well worth while for Calvin to talk with him.
We shall look forward to seeing you.
Sincerely yours,
Linus Pauling
