    Dear Professor Haurowitz:

I am pleased to have received your letter and reprint, and I thank you for them. Also, I extend my best wishes to you for the successful continuation of your scientific career, even after your retirement. I trust that you do find it possible to make satisfactory arrangements for continuing your researches.

I am just finishing a brief edition of my book on the chemical bond, a paperback for use by students, and I am preparing some lectures on the structure of atomic nuclei. I am sending you some reprints under separate cover, including some older ones that I may have sent to you before.

    With best regards, I am,

    Sincerely yours,

    mjh Linus Pauling
