    I have been interested to receive your letter and the accompanying essay.

    I do not have any information about the expansion or contraction in the axial direction of helical molecules, and my studies have not yet led me to any conclusions about correlation between helical structure of molecules and helical structure of macroscopic aggregates of molecules.
