- Letter from LP to Charles J. Conrad, RE: On July 12, 1964, LP sent Conrad a letter stating that Conrad's memorandum of April 1964 about LP contained falsehoods and contemptible insinuations. In Conrad's answer of July 19, 1964, he refuses to discuss these falsehoods and insinuations, but offers to debate LP on television. It is evident that Conrad knows that LP's statements are correct. Conrad is afraid to discuss his memorandum by correspondence, because he knows that LP's statements would be shown to be accurate. LP will not consider a television debate with Conrad until the matter of Conrad's statements about LP in his memorandum are settled. Conrad should either admit that his statements about LP are falsehoods, or present evidence to support them. [Filed under LP Personal Safe, Drawer #2, Folder #2.015]
