Dear Mom
This morning we arrived at Chanute Field. I haven't seen much of the field yet, but the
barracks are much better than Truax's. We're on the midnight to 6AM shift in school I don't
know yet when we sleep. But meantime I sleep at all possible moments. That shift is going to
be horrible as far as learning anything goes. The one good thing a 40 hour day off. Time
enough to go even to Madison.
I joined a small poker game on the train won and lost five dollars and quit in half an
hour. It was fun.
I've been reading Freud's "Psycho-analysis." Quite interesting.
Give my love to the children. I'll write again soon.
All my love,
Linus.
