Stanford University professor Dr. Roger Kornberg, winner of the 2006 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, spoke in Portland, Oregon on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. His lecture, titled "The Molecular Basis of Eukaryotic Transcription," was presented at the Oregon Historical Society. Kornberg was honored as the sixth recipient of the Linus Pauling Legacy Award, granted once every two years for outstanding achievement in an area of study once of interest to Dr. Linus Pauling. The Pauling Legacy Award is sponsored by Oregon State University Libraries.
