Dear Mr. Gould:
I am pleased that you should write to me about the nomination of Thich Nhat Hanh for the Nobel Peace Prize.
I met Thich Nhat Hanh when he visited the Center a few week ago, and I was, as you would, of course, expect, very well impressed by him.
The nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize for 1967 are accepted until the end of January of 1967, and I have not yet decided about my actions.
The last sentence of your letter suggests to me that you may not know how many people have the right to make nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize. Any member of a national parliament, such as the United States Congress, has this right. Also Professors of History and Philosophy in universities, as well as former recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize and some other people.
