    Mr. Michael Harwood, Secretary

    London Committee of 100

    168 New Cavendish Street

    London, W.1, ENGLAND

    Dear Mr. Harwood:

I am writing to acknowledge your letter of 9 January.

I have decided not to make a contribution to the London Committee of 100, until, at any rate, I have more information about how effectively the organization will function. This decision is in part the result of my experience with two representatives of the Committee of 100 at the Oxford meeting, a couple of weeks ago.

    Yours truly,

    Linus Pauling:lh
