Letter from Linus Pauling to Fred Allen. May 31, 1955

Pauling writes to return a check for $200 to Allen, requesting that he keep the check and help with the answer sheet for Pauling’s textbook. Pauling understands that Allen plans to spend a year in Corvallis and notes that he will not return to Corvallis because the Chancellor of Oregon State College has stated that the College "could get along without me in the future." Pauling adds that though he has been invited by Gilbert to attend the dedication of OSC’s new laboratory, he will not return unless invited by the College. Pauling confirms that he will ask Freeman to send Allen a set of answer sheets for College Chemistry (1st ed.) and General Chemistry (2nd ed.) and will look forward to visiting Allen in Indiana.  View Transcript
