  • Letter from John Moore to unknown recipient RE: Discusses his opinions regarding the newspaper articles he read that morning. Discusses the meanings of honor and morality. Talks about the withdrawal of LP’s invitation to speak at the University of Hawaii. Discusses that he feels the only way out of the dilemmas of today’s world is to live under the philosophy and religion of Jesus Christ. Handwritten note in the top margin indicates that the letter is being sent to the L.A. Press but that they doubt anyone will publish it.   • Note from Leonora N. Bilger, University of Hawaii, to LP RE: Discusses the phone call she received from the Dean of Faculties about LP’s plans to speak at the Chemistry Seminar. Explains to LP that she was called into conference with the President and the Dean of Faculties and told not to invite LP to speak to chemistry classes. Explains that these decisions were made in order for the University to “save face.” Says that Dean Bachman suggests that she invite LP and the seminar to her house. Asks LP to let her know his plans for arrival and mentions his meeting with Sigma Xi and a possible meeting with the Phi Beta Kappa Association of Hawaii. Attached is a report on LP that was distributed by Dean Bachman to faculty and students, with notes in margins and on the back by LP.
