Contained within the collection are documentation of many general policies, functions and actions of the university regarding fiscal affairs, including policies for reimbursement, documenting gifts and grants, and a policy manual. Salary increases and cuts, regular and irregular payments of the university, and many payroll records are also housed within the collection. Also included are past university budgets, including budgets for long-term planning for campus; Capital Construction Funding Records; preliminary plans for new buildings; contracts, correspondence and contract supplements. The variety of other records held in the collection include Employment Division Summary Reports, correspondence, tuition and fees changes, records related to the transfer of Camp Adair to OSU, and the OSU policy of payment in association with memberships and dues.
Accession 1995:001 includes the users manual for the Payroll Office's automated timecard program.
Accession 1997:001 includes instructions for the online accounting system (1992) and a TRAN code list (1994).
Accession 1997:040 includes a planning application, preliminary plans, and related documentation for construction of an additional EPA office/laboratory building.
Accession 1998:001 includes correspondence to the OSU community and a clarification of OSU's policy on payment of association memberships and dues.
Accession 1998:018 includes Business Office annual reports summarizing Oregon Agricultural College receipts and expenditures for fiscal years 1910-11, 1911-12, 1912-13, and 1929-30.
Accession 1999:001 includes correspondence pertaining to policies and procedures for cash out and other methods of personal reimbursement.
Accession 1999:109 includes various records including tuition and fees (1974-1977); indirect cost rate computations (1974); a general policy manual (1988) and desk manuals (1987-1989) for Business Affairs units; and Financial Information System (FIS) handbooks and manuals (1995-1997).
Accession 2001:001 includes a manual guiding use of the official OSU logo: "Graphic Identity Guide for Print, Video, and Electronic Publications." The guidelines in this manual became effective August 15, 1999.
Accession 2001:056 includes a report featuring an alphabetical listing of employee salaries (both regular and temporary workers) for the fiscal years 1928-1929 and 1929-1930. The report is a supplement to the Report for Biennium 1929-1930.
Accession 2002:001 includes two announcements e-mailed by the Business Affairs Office to various subscribers of a payroll administrator listserv concerning the results of a survey on late paperwork.
Accession 2003:035 includes a Fiscal Operations Policies and Procedures (FIS) Manual.
Accession 2004:001 includes two announcements e-mailed to OSU employees and students through various listservs concerning the nationwide flu vaccine shortage and distribution of vaccine at OSU.
Accession 2007:001 includes an announcement e-mailed by the Payroll Office to various university staff on the PAYNEWS listerv regarding a student employment survey attached as a file to the message.
Accession 2007:013 includes documentation pertaining to the physical and administrative transfer of Camp Adair properties to Oregon State University. In addition to quitclaim deeds, there is correspondence, a lease agreement, deeds of release, and a memorandum of understanding.
Accession 2007:046 includes materials generated by the Business Affairs Office pertaining to the management of university property, equipment, and finances. Primarily made up of correspondence and reports, the records in this transfer document the management of capital construction projects, distribution of endowment income, land acquisition, property inventory, general obligation bonds, assignment of building names/numbers, and rededication of buildings for new uses.
Accession 2008:004 includes policy and procedure statements issued by the following OSU administrative offices and departments: Business Affairs (RG 17), Public Safety (RG 82), Student Affairs (RG 102), Human Resources (RG 126), International Education (RG 164), Research Office (RG 170), Affirmative Action (RG 172), University Advancement (RG 210), University Archives (RG 220). Among the topics covered by these statements and handbooks include: the campus AIDS policy, guidelines for employee political activity, hiring foreign faculty, the Family Leave and Medical Act, handling of scientific and scholarly misconduct allegations, and the management of Extension Service/Experiment Station records.
Accession 2012:091 consists of chart of account lists generated by the Office of Business Affairs that document university account codes.
