- Publication: “Two Hydrogen-Bonded Spiral Configurations of the Polypeptide Chain” by LP, and Robert B. Corey, Journal of the American Chemical Society. 72 (1950) 5349. LP describes two configurations, one of which is the three residue spiral, in which there are about 3.7 residues per turn and residue is hydrogen bonded to the third residue.
