Dr. Henry Gilman
Department of Chemistry
Iowa State College
Ames, Iowa
Dear Henry:
The original two sets of page proofs and foul galleys have now reached me, after their slow progress across the country. Do you want me to do anything with them? I have returned to you one set of page proof with corrections indicated and another set with items for the index underlined.
Sincerely yours,
Linus Pauling
LP:jr
P.S. Each of the two special copies of page proofs which you have sent us since the original material was lost in the mail has been shipped back to you within a few hours after its arrival in Pasadena. I have just received a letter mailed by you on October 5 asking us to send back the marked copy which you had sent a week ago. If you are troubled by the delay I think that you should look into the possibility of speeding up the mail by the use of airmail or first class mail.
