My wife and I reached home safely, and everything went well for a day, but on the second day I came down with a cold, from which I am just recovering. This indicates again the advisability of staying away from Southern California.
The following is a statement of my expenses on the trip home.

Sunday, September 20, arrived Glendale 8:42 A.M. Personal automobile to Pasadena

I have not gone to the trouble of summing up the per diem allowances, since you would have to do that anyway as a check.

Did George show you the letter that I wrote about one of our men, Lotzkar, who is looking for a war job? If not, perhaps you should speak to him about it, since I think that Lotzkar would be a good man for you. He would be good for laboratory work or, I think, as press foreman.
