  • Letter from Kent Wilson, to Kurt Shuler, cc: William Stillwell, UCSD, RE: NSF has had it's funding cut by Congress, so a limit was put on the amount of NSF grant money can actually be spent. An estimate on that amount is 60%, as there is a cap on the amount of money that can be spent by the entire campus. At the bottom of the page, someone has calculated out an expenditure limit for $21,600 [for the chemistry department?] Wilson also asks people to write to Congress in hopes of getting things straightened out. Attached is an NSF Grant Analysis for UCSD for 1968/69. [Filed under LP Biographical: Academia, University of California, San Diego, 1960, 1966-1969, 1970, 1978.
