  Dear Linus:

  I have just happened to see a picture of you, in an article in Newsweek, April 5, 1965, page 24, about the Selma-Montgomery march. I had read this article, and had not noticed that you were the doctor in the photograph with the caption "Footsore Marchers: 'Don't Get Weary'", but when I saw it in the Sansum Clinic where I had gone for a checkup, I noticed that it was a picture of you.

  I am pleased to say that I had a complete checkup at the Clinic, and was found to be in good shape. I had some GI and chest x-rays made, showing no abnormality except some small diverticula on the colon (which may have been the cause of some abdominal pain that I have had recently), and a small amount of calcification in the aorta — a plaque about one-half inch long. My blood pressure is alright (140/90 when upright, 120/80 when lying down). They found no protein in my urine, meaning perhaps less than 100 milligrams.

  Mama has recovered from the cold that she had for about ten days after we saw you. She is going to have a medical checkup soon. I think that the Sansum Clinic is pretty good.
