Holland, Sydney Grammar School, RE: LP does not have a copy of Glasstone’s book at hand, and is not sure he understand’s Mr. Holland’s question.  He looked over his discussion in General Chemistry and cannot find anything wrong with it.  There is a great deal that can be said about the mechanism, but it is probably not worthwhile to take up in an elementary chemistry course.  If he wishes, he may write again discussing this matter in greater detail.
