Dear Mamma,
Thank you for your letter. We had not heard from you for a long time.
We are all well, except that the usual winter long colds began rather early.
I am sorry. I gave that sweater and stockings to Julia as a birthday present from me,
and she did not know that they were from you.
Can you send us some vaccine? Vernon Ingram could bring it. Send plenty. Our
doctor wants some if possible, and I said I would try. If now, please advise. Julia and I had
our first shots, but they were so long ago that they are wasted now. If you cannot please say
so, so that I can tell the doctor to try elsewhere.
Please send $10 to Dr. S.A. Bernhard, Naval Medical Research Institute, Bethesda 14,
Maryland. He gave it me. Tell daddy to subtract from income.
How is Audio? The junior siblings cut me off, the squirts. Thomas walks (holding
onto chairs and tables) and talks.
love,
(XXXOOO)10! Peter
