Accession 1991:118 includes annual reports, National Assn for Foreign Student Affairs (NAFSA) grant materials, clippings, and profiles of student participants. Also included are Crossroads International materials, clippings, programs, Distinguished Service Award items, mailing list, constitution, and Conversational English School.
Accession 1991:130 includes correspondence, publicity, and other materials pertaining to the installation of a plaque in the Office of International Education in memory of an international student.
Accession 1991:171 includes the Office's ad-hoc committee on walk-ins and appointments; officer lists of international student organizations; and Office Director and member of University's Accreditation Steering Committee that coordinated preparation of a new strategic plan.
Accession 1991:186 includes Agency for International Development cooperative agreement and amendments; correspondence; curriculum review; policies; hiring procedures; US Information Service rental and service agreements; and employee biographical data sheets. The Yemen-America Language Institute, an intensive English language teaching program in Sana'a, Yemen Arab Republic, was operated and managed through a cooperative agreement between the US Agency for International Development and Oregon State University's English Language Institute from 1985 to 1990.
Accession 1993:083 includes International Cultural Service Program annual reports, lists of activities and announcements of available speakers.
Accession 1995:001 includes the university's Policy on Protocol for International Visitors (1989) and a program description for the English Language Institute (1984) which includes background information, fees, course descriptions, and services offered to OSU departments. The English Language Institute (ELI) is an intensive English language training program for international students enrolled part-time or preparing to enroll at OSU. ELI has been at OSU since 1965.
Accession 1995:016 includes administrative records of the Asia University America Program such as program planning and development documentation; staff guidelines and handbooks; course outlines; course and program evaluations; correspondence; orientation materials; and newsletters. The Asia University America Program was administered through the English Language Institute and offered the opportunity for students of Asia University in Japan to come to Oregon State University and attend classes in English, American history, and physical education. The program at OSU was closed.
Accession 1997:019 includes materials pertaining to OSU's relationship with Kasetsart University in Thailand, specifically Robert W. Henderson's participation in the program as Chief Advisor.
Accession 1997:021 includes records of OSU's international programs in Germany and includes correspondence, orientation materials, resident director handbooks, and related documentation.
Accession 1998:001 includes a memorandum to the campus community regarding assistance being provided to students affected by the economic crisis in Asia.
Accession 1999:001 includes the International Student Data Profile for 1998/99 and information about the International Cultural Service Program for 1999/2000.
Accession 1999:109 includes the international scholars survey for 1996/97.
Accession 1999:124 includes records of Crossroads International and the International Cultural Service Program (ICSP). The Crossroads International records include brochures, the constitution, lists of board members, annual reports, president's reports, award citations, and information pertaining to the Crossroads Conversation School. The ICSP records include activities reports, annual reports, student rosters, and essays written by students who participated in the program. Crossroads International incorporated in 1970 as volunteer, non-profit community organization with goal of international understanding and world peace. The International Cultural Service Program began in 1983 as Intercultural Dimensions in Education.
Accession 2000:164 consists of two memos sent to various OSU deans, department chairs, and directors by the Office of International Education regarding policies concerning hiring foreign faculty and the 1999/2000 international student data profile.
Accession 2000:084 includes documentation from the Office of International Education pertaining to the International Cultural Service Program (ICSP) and Crossroads International. Among the materials included in these records are annual reports, a list of program activities, newspaper clippings, and "departure essays" from ICSP scholarship students.
Accession 2001:124 includes an annual report for the Office of International Education for 1964/1965.
Accession 2002:048 includes blank applications for admission to the English Language Institute in four languages: Arabic, Spanish, French, and Chinese.
Accession 2002:063 includes annual reports generated by the Crossroads International Program and the International Cultural Service Program as well as newspaper clippings related to events and classes sponsored by the two programs.
Accession 2002:104 includes records generated by the Office of International Education relating to the award of scholarships to foreign students. Pertaining solely to the winners of these scholarships, the records in this transfer include: award letters, lists of award recipients, completed applications, and memoranda announcing guidelines for submission.
Accession 2002:001 includes an announcement mailed out to various OSU faculty and staff regarding the International Cultural Service Program that includes a roster of the students in the program with information on their home countries and majors.
Accession 2003:059 includes records generated by the Office of International Education which pertain to the Crossroads International Program, the International Cultural Service Program (ICSP) scholarship, and a retirement reception for Susan Schwartz. Included among the materials in this accession are annual reports, constitutions/bylaws, a program handbook, historical timelines/essays, newspaper clippings, a scholarship recipient list, speeches, and student essays. Susan Schwartz served as Executive Director of the Crossroads International program (1983-2003) and as Director of the International Cultural Service Program Scholarship program (1985-2003) at OSU.
Accession 2003:001 includes an announcement to OSU faculty and staff regarding the International Cultural Services Program at OSU.
Accession 2004:001 includes an announcement to OSU faculty and staff regarding the International Cultural Services Program at OSU.
Accession 2006:001 includes messages e-mailed to the OSU community by the Office of International Student and Faculty Services through various listservs regarding: new charges for services provided to international students, procedures for the granting of a social security card to international students, and the hiring of international employees.
Accession 2007:001 consists of a nomination packet for Instructor of Foreign Languages and Literatures Anuncia Escala. Escala won the International Service Award.
Accession 2008:004 includes policy and procedure statements issued by the following OSU administrative offices and departments: Business Affairs (RG 17), Public Safety (RG 82), Student Affairs (RG 102), Human Resources (RG 126), International Education (RG 164), Research Office (RG 170), Affirmative Action (RG 172), University Advancement (RG 210), University Archives (RG 220). Among the topics covered by these statements and handbooks are: the campus AID policy, guidelines for employee political activity, hiring foreign faculty, the Leave and Medical Act, handling of scientific and scholarly misconduct allegations, and the management of Extension Service/Experiment Station records.
Accession 2009:001 includes a guide for the INTO OSU program.
Accession 2014:092 consists of materials generated and collected by the Education Abroad Office that document the coordination of study abroad programs. Largely made up of agreements, contracts, and memoranda of understanding between OSU and various universities and program providers. these materials also include correspondence, meeting minutes, newspaper clippings, proposals for study, publications, and reports. These records also reflect accreditation, budgetary management, and scholarships/awards. The agreements are arranged alphabetically by country and are listed in an index also available in this transfer. Among the countries represented in these files include: Botswana, Thailiand, Spain, Indonesia, Norway, Chile, and Tunisia.
