The Donald B. Zobel Collection of Historic Forestry and Vegetations Maps consist of maps assembled and created by Zobel for his research in forest ecology and for teaching; the bulk of the maps depict forests in Oregon and northern California. Zobel was a faculty member in the Oregon State University Department of Botany and Plant Pathology from 1968 until 2003.

Series II consists of maps compiled and assembled for research on timber stands and watersheds in the H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest in the central Oregon Cascades.

Stem map of one of the most intensively studied sites in the Andrews Forest. Mapping of trees, downed logs, and stumps was done by Glenn Hawk and others.
Series 3: Oregon Forest Maps, 1914-1980 Add to Shelf
Series III consists of forest type and forest cover maps of portions of Benton and Polk Counties; maps from a cutbank stability reconnaissance survey in the Siskiyou National Forest; maps of fire protection districts in western Oregon; and other maps of Oregon forests. Of particular note are a 1914 Oregon map published by the Oregon State Board of Forestry and a 1921 map of national forests in Oregon and northern California.

Published by the Oregon State Board of Forestry; compiled by Theodore Rowland under direction of F.A. Elliott, State Forester. Item is very brittle and fragile.
Series 4: California Soil Vegetation Survey, 1950-1970 Add to Shelf
Series IV consists Soil Vegetation Maps, Timber Stand Vegetation Cover Maps, and legends and supplementary information created as part of the California Soil Vegetation Survey during the 1950s and 1960s. The soil vegetation maps are of Humboldt County; the timber stand vegetation cover maps depict areas of both Humboldt and Del Norte Counties. All maps are at a scale of 1:31,680. The California Cooperative Soil-Vegetation Survey documented the types of upland soils and the natural cover of trees, shrubs, grasses, and other vegetation. It was a joint project of the California Division of Foresty, the University of California, and the U.S. Forest Service Pacific Southwest Forest and Range Experiment Station.

Series V consists of non-forest maps of Oregon as well as forest and vegetations maps of areas other than Oregon. These include forest type maps for midwestern states prepared by the North Central Forest Experiment Station of the U.S. Forest Service. Of special note are a 1962 road map for the Warm Springs Indian Reservation and a 1925 topographic map of the Three Sisters, Oregon.
