    May 10, 1965

    Professor O. Bastiansen

    University of Oslo

    Blindern, Norway

    Dear Otto:

I have received a letter from Christian Kier, asking if I would become associated with his organization called The Volunteers' Organizations For World Disarmament. He has enclosed a copy of a letter written by Edvard Hambro, and some other material.

You probably know him. Could you perhaps consult with Marie Lous-Mohr, and let me have your advice about this matter.

I have had some association with several rather similar organizations, and I am not sure about the need for still another.

Ava Helen and I have been taking various actions about Viet Nam and the Dominican Republic during recent months. The situation is a terrible one.

    With best regards, I am,

    Sincerely yours,

    mjh

    Linus Pauling
