[Letterhead:] HOTEL Statler DETROIT
3 PM Sunday
Dearest love:
I've just got here - quite a change, too. At the Woodner I had a bedroom about the size of ours, a bigger sitting room, & a kitchen, as well as bath! Here my room is 10 ft x 12 ft, with the bureau as the only furniture (bed & chairs, of course, but not writing desk!) - a corner room, however, with a view of the center parkway. From the Woodner I had a fine view of the park, with autumn colors.
The plane was not well pressurized, & my head hurts a little.
Dave Pressman wanted me to come to Buffalo today, & Sutherland (who also attended the symposium) wanted me to come to Ann Arbor, but I am going to rest & try to get my sinuses cleaned out. I'm starting to read another book from the Coleman St. Mem. Lib.
Will you come to get me Wednesday morning? The plane, AAL 49, is due at 6:10 AM. Perhaps you should just come to the Biltmore at 7:10 AM I'll get on the bus if you are not at the airport.
Love from Paddy
[He has flown from Washington D.C. where he spoke at the Molecular Structure and Biological Specificity Symposium sponsered by the Office of Naval Research held on October 28, 29, 1955. He stayed at the Woodner there. He is now in Detroit.]
