  • Letter from Professor Fred T. Wall, William Albert Noyes Laboratory, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Dept., University of Illinois, to LP RE: Invites LP to be a visiting lecturer for a month at Urbana next year and to deliver a series of lectures on "The Structure of Proteins." Would welcome a monograph based on the lectures to be published by their University Press. For two lectures a week for four weeks, would be happy to pay $2500. Have decided to find a senior man at the full professor level to fill the vacancy in their physical chemistry staff. Thus, they were not able to bring Dr. Hedberg on at an intermediate level. [Letter from Wall to LP June 7, 1955] [Filed under LP Speeches: 1956s.11]

  • Postcard from John G. Moore to LP RE: Plans to publish some of his correspondence with Albert Einstein regarding war, peace, and religion. Wonders if LP would like any copies for his meeting in memorial of Einstein. Moore's "Letter to Americans" is also available. Moore spent all his cash printing copies of the letter because no newspaper was interested in publishing it. [Filed under LP Correspondence: (M: Correspondence, 1950-1955), #256.6]
