  • Letter from Alfred Marshak, Marine Biological Laboratory, Massachusetts, to Dr. Frank Weymouth, Citizens Committee to Preserve American Freedoms, RE: Adds his name to the friendship scroll to be presented to LP at the dinner honoring him on June 4. Gathers that the letter is also intended to register a protest against encroachment on civil rights. Suggests that much more than a tribute to LP is needed: the Committee should consider other action, such as an appeal to the government. [Filed under LP Speeches: 1955s.13]
  • Letter from Dr. Th. Foerster, c/o Professor R. Livingston, Division of Physical Chemistry, University of Minnesota, to LP RE: Plans to arrive in Pasadena on July 25 and stay for 3 or 4 days. Would like a reservation at the Athenaeum if the rules of the club will allow Mrs. Foerster to stay there as well. Plans to depart from the University of Minnesota on June 10. LP can write to him care of Professor D. S. McClure at the University of California at Berkeley around July 18. [Letter from LP to Foerster May 10, 1955, Letter from Wulf to Foerster July 11, 1955] [Filed under LP Correspondence: (F: Correspondence, 1935-1956), #128.20]
