"Statement by Linus Pauling" [re: new invitations to visit and speak in Hawaii]. April 26, 1951

Pauling writes that the University of Hawaii belongs to the people of Hawaii and that they will want the university run properly in the future. He also states that he has been invited to Hawaii to give scientific talks by the Hawaiian Section of the American Chemical Society, the University of Hawaii Chemistry Department, and the University of Hawaii Student Chemistry Club, all of which he has accepted. His trip to Honolulu will be at the end of May. He has much to say as a scientist and therefore will not be speaking of politics, since politics are a part of his duty as a citizens and such duties have already been given too much attention.
