In her interview, Sandy Jones discusses her upbringing in Lake Oswego, Oregon with her parents and older brother. Following her brother, Jones attended Lakeridge High School, where she was a four-year member of the cheerleading team and a photographer for the school newspaper. With her brother now attending University of Oregon, Jones chose to take a different path and attend Oregon State University in 1981.

Jones then continues to talk about her time at Oregon State. Prior to her freshman year, Jones went through Rush Week in hopes of joining a sorority prior to the first week of classes. After several days of cuts, anxiety, and friend making, Jones received a bid to the Delta Delta Delta (Tri-Delt) sorority. Jones then discusses her time with the sorority, describing house jobs, Greek events, and her favorite memories with her sorority sisters. She then notes her academic journey at Oregon State, where she changed her major from pre-nursing to elementary education during her sophomore year. Jones received her bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1985 and her master's degree in education in 1986.

Jones goes on to discuss her time after graduation, where she worked with the Beaverton School District for thirteen years before working part-time at Lewis & Clark College for several years. Jones retired from teaching shortly after the birth of her third child. Regarding her children, Jones recounts her journey with her husband, whom she first met in junior high school and attended both high school and college with. Jones continues by discussing the changes she has noticed to both the physical campus and the culture of the school, while also reflecting on her daughter’s Greek life experience.

As the interview concludes, Jones notes the impact her faith has had on her life. She then looks to the future where she expects to do volunteer work with her faith at the forefront.
