Dean Earl L. Packard, ca 1920s. Packard worked with the Geology department from 1932-1950. In 1932, Packard was appointed the Dean of the School of Science, Director of the Research Council, and Chairman of the Geology
department. His focus of interest were fossil records of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic periods from the Pacific Coast.
