The English Department records consist of a 1953 textbook, An Introduction to Report Writing, written by J.F. Ligon and published by the OSC Cooperative Association and the published proceedings of the Summer Conference on Science Writing, held at OSU in 1965. This conference was organized and sponsored by the English Department and the Summer Session, was offered to OSU staff in both the sciences and humanities, and focused on writing well for professional publication as well as communicating clearly in non-technical language with the public.

The subgroup also includes a course reading packet for SOC 499/599, Gender and Sexuality in Popular Culture taught by Dwaine Plaza and Kathleen Stanley in June 2008. This includes a research study on college football by Plaza and Stanley using football team photographs.

The papers address a variety of topics including the origins of the Daily Barometer campus newspaper, Title IX implementation and compliance at OSU, OSU during World War II, the 1937 water shortage in Corvallis, Native Americans at OSU, the changing face of home economics education at OSU; the development of the Oregon State curriculum in general the the history curriculum specificially; student life in the 1930s-1950s; Snell and Withycombe Halls; and the Nancy Wyckoff murder in 1972.

The Anthropology Department records consist of a proposal for development of an Anthropology Department at Oregon State University (circa 1969); a nomination of Waldo Hall to the National Register of Historic Places prepared in 1996; and a report of a 2001 archeological excavation at the site of the former Copeland Lumber building in downtown Corvallis. The Waldo Hall nomination was completed by two Anthropology Departmen graduate students in 1996 as part of a class project and was never submitted for review. It includes descriptions of history and construction of the building; photocopies of historic photographs from the OSU Archives; and 24 color and b/w photographs. The report of the excavation of the Copeland Lumber site (411 SW Second Street) was prepared for the Benton County Historical Society by Anthroplogy Department graduate student and project leader Kirsten Pourroy Hebert.
