Professor R. P. Mitra
Department of Chemistry
University of Delhi
Delhi, India
Dear Professor Mitra:
I am very pleased to learn from your letter that the Ford Foundation has given a grant to the University of Delhi, and that you are making a trip to the United States.
I regret that I am no longer in Pasadena. I am at the present time Professor of Chemistry in the University of California, San Diego. I am going to be away from San Diego during most of the time between 1 June and 15 June 1968. I am scheduled to make a trip, to give a commencement address at a university in New Mexico, and the lease on our house in La Jolla expires at that time, so that we shall be giving it up.
If you are planning to visit the University of California, San Diego, (which is about 100 miles south of Los Angeles), please let me know your schedule is. If it turns out that my wife and I are to be away at the time of your visit here, we shall make arrangements for you to see other members of the Department of Chemistry.
Sincerely yours,
Linus Pauling
