  • Letter from Dr. W. A. Wooster, Department of Mineralogy and Petrology, University of Cambridge to LP RE: Thanks him for his letter, says he is pleased as the Rockefeller Foundation has written to Professor Bragg about Perutz, feels compelled to tell how ashamed he and other people of England feel about the treatment of people like Perutz, says he is glad to know that scientific work has been hardly affected by the war and compliments the work coming from their laboratories. Says that they all appreciate the transfer of the 50 U.S. destroyers to England, and says they all feel really in the war with the constant bombing. [Letters from LP to Wooster August 8, 1940, October 10, 1940] [Filed under LP Correspondence: 438.9]
